The Ravasqueira range of wines respects the traditional winemaking techniques while being dynamic, imaginative, and disruptive. In this Heritage range, the winemaker, David Baverstock, creates wines with a modern profile that reflect all of the passion for the Ravasqueira terroir, as well as for this ever so special region, the Alentejo.

These wines are an expression of the terroir and showcase the great passion with which all people involved work daily, as well their meticulous attention to detail.

The Vinha das Romãs is the result of story that began in 2002, when, where once stood an orchard of pomegranates, a vineyard was planted. Over the years, the vineyard established itself and the resulting wines denoted a very particular structure. It was only when we studied the soil in detail that we discovered the reason behind such personality and texture. The roots of the new Vinha das Romãs were intertwined with the roots of the pomegranates that were left buried, enriching the soil.

These are classic and timeless wines, produced only from selected areas of the vineyard. Authentic and international in profile, they reflect the special character of the grape varieties in the Ravasqueira terroir, harmoniously together and with an extended stage in wooden barrels.

They are also the result of a spirit of discovery and sharing of unique values, year upon year.

These wines express the unique characteristics of each grape variety planted at Ravasqueira. They combine the new world oenology with the elegance of the old world’s traditional wines, highlighting the concentration and freshness that characterise the Ravasqueira terroir, thus enabling a great potential for ageing in bottle.

They result from a limited selection of the best plants on each block, that usually produce the best berries and in smaller clusters, demonstrating an ideal balance of the vineyard for the production of high-quality wines.
