Vintage Port is a wine with exceptional properties, produced only in years of extraordinary quality. It stays in the vat for just two years and is bottled young so that it can evolve in the bottle for many years. It can be enjoyed at a young age, but is perfected over decades of ageing in the bottle.

Taste Notes

Deep purple core with a narrow brick-red rim. Vigorous, opulent berry fruit almost dominates the nose, a rich infusion of ripe black and red fruits. Notes of sawn wood, cigar box and licorice gradually emerge, as well as light notes of dried rose petals and violets. The complex, fruity taste resurfaces on the palate with intense flavors of strawberry, currant and plum that linger into the long finish. Superbly integrated tannins provide body and structure without interfering with the wine's velvety texture. An exceptionally fine expression of the 2009, made with optimum ripeness and excellent fruit quality. It's already seductive and accessible, but still shows plenty of structure and vigor.
